Owning a dog should be a pleasure not a problem.

New puppy?  We can start him off right.

Adolescent delinquent? We can restore order.

Adult dog?  It’s never too late to learn new skills.

“Sunny and I have been attending sessions with Sarah for about six months now. I find Sarah’s focus on observing and learning about Sunny’s personality and behaviour really helpful.

Her explanations of what we are doing are clear and easy to follow and all training sessions are followed up with an email outlining what was covered in the session, further words of encouragement and general suggestions plus articles and video links that she feels may be useful.”

ABOUT SARAH RIPLEY

Hot Dogs is owned by me, Sarah Ripley (that’s me over there on the right).

I’ve taught dog training in Dunedin for over a decade through the local dog club, and started training dogs myself as soon as I could toddle fast enough to keep up!

My professional training includes a BSc in Animal Behavior and Psychology, DipCABT from the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology in the UK, and a Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment — all of which means I have the science background to know what works and what doesn’t when it comes to dog training, plus education in how to teach YOU, not just your dog.

I believe in using positive training methods, helping you train and problem solve with techniques you’ll both enjoy. In my spare time, I train and compete with my own dogs in Obedience, including putting an Obedience Grand Champion title on my husky/BC mix and winning test C at the National Dog Obedience Assembly in 2015.

So: If you’re looking for a positive, science-based approach to training, let’s chat! Just fill out the form below.
